Welcome to the new standard for live stream monitoring. We built streamerOS to give you a professional, high-fidelity command center that runs completely locally on your machine. No bloat, no delayed web hooks, and no hunting through complex menus — just instant, at-a-glance telemetry to help you read your audience and direct your stream.

When you are minutes away from going live, the last thing you want to do is fight with your software. That is why we completely redesigned the streamerOS dashboard using a strict "Keep It Simple" philosophy.

Everything you need to get your stream off the ground is right on the surface.

🎛️ The Pre-Flight Control Ribbon

At the very top of your dashboard sits your Control Ribbon — a single row that spans the full width of the screen. Think of it as your instant launchpad. We divided it into two clean sections so you can verify your stream's heartbeat in one glance:

One-Click Connections (left side)

On the left side of the ribbon you'll find compact status badges for OBS Studio and YouTube Chat. If they're disconnected, you don't need to dig through settings. Each one shows a high-contrast cyan icon — click it and streamerOS routes you straight to where you need to go:

  • The OBS Studio badge opens the OBS Bridge, where streamerOS connects to OBS over the local connection.
  • The YouTube Chat badge opens the Live Sync modal, where you'll point streamerOS at your chat (we cover that in detail in Part 2).

Connect, click, and you're ready.

Live Vitals (right side)

On the right side of the ribbon, your core stream metrics live in the Live Vitals panel: Uptime, Viewers, and Sub Goal.

Uptime is a real ticking clock the moment your session begins. Viewers and Sub Goal are honest static placeholders — before you're live, they simply read "Stream Offline" rather than showing a fake zero or a made-up number. No digging for numbers; your vitals are always pinned to the top of your screen.

When you open the app for the very first time, you might notice something unusual. In the middle row, your Hype Heatmap displays a completely empty grid, and down in the bottom row, your Channel Health dial — a radial gauge — sits grayed out.

This is not a bug; this is a core design principle.

We have a strict "Honest UI" rule at streamerOS: we never show you fake data.

Many apps fill empty space with mock numbers or fabricated charts just to make the dashboard look busy. We believe that creates confusion. If you haven't streamed yet, your dashboard acts as a clean, quiet canvas waiting for your live traffic.

The moment you go live and hit "Start Monitor," your chat starts rolling and those empty states instantly transform into a live, beating heart of data. Every single number, pulse, and sentiment shift you see on that screen is a perfectly accurate reflection of your actual audience in that exact second.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my Channel Health dial grayed out and my Hype Heatmap empty before I stream?

That's the "Honest UI" rule in action, not a glitch. With no live traffic yet, there's nothing real to plot — so streamerOS leaves the radial dial dim and the heatmap grid empty rather than inventing data. Both spring to life the instant your chat starts flowing.

Why do Viewers and Sub Goal say "Stream Offline"?

Because they genuinely are offline. Rather than display a misleading "0," the Live Vitals show honest placeholders until you're broadcasting. Uptime is the one vital that starts moving immediately — it's a real ticking clock for your session.

Where do I actually connect my chat?

Click the YouTube Chat badge in the Control Ribbon to open the Live Sync modal, then point it at your popout chat window and hit Start Monitor. That whole flow is the subject of Part 2.
